EBSCOhost is a research platform to find the information you need. It has peer reviewed content, citation help, and the ability to save your searches and results. It also has a large collection of eBooks. You can also find college prep here.
Maps101 is a web-based interactive database of teacher lesson plans, geography tools, online learning games, dynamic interactive map modules and over 4,000 viewable and printable history, thematic, reference, outline, current events and animated maps.
Teen Health & Wellness provides middle and high school students with nonjudgmental, straightforward, curricular, and self-help support. Articles are correlated to state, national, and provincial standards, including Common Core Health and Science. Birdville ISD library programs collaborate and partner with our city public libraries to provide access to additional programs and resources for students.
Our Birdville Portal is a single sign-on (SSO) platform for our district. It acts like a personalized dashboard where students and teachers can access all of their digital resources, apps, and files with just one login.
Parents and guardians are also encouraged to communicate with the campus librarian and their child’s teacher about special considerations regarding library materials that have been self-selected by their student. In accordance with state law and administrative procedures, parents or guardians may select alternative library materials for their student.

Battle of the Books is a district Elementary K-5 academic competition to encourage children to read and become familiar with excellent literature. Birdville elementary librarians develop a primary and intermediate list of books for students to read each year. Campuses form two teams of seven students on each team (Primary Team K-3 and Intermediate Team 4th - 5th). Students read the books and become experts. The teams practices and study until they compete in February.

The BISD Texas Star Reading list is developed by the Birdville Middle Schools librarians (adapted from the Texas Lone Star Reading list).
The purpose of the list is to encourage students in grades 6, 7, or 8 to read and explore a variety of current high-interest, high-quality books.

If students read 10 books out of the 29 options they are able to attend the Texas Star Reading luncheon with a guest author, as well as receive autographed books, a medal, a certificate, and other goodies!
